Coach of the Year

The 2025 Gary Sorensen Coach of the Year was awarded to Catholic Memorial High School head coach Chandler North. This was North’s first season as the head of his alma mater, which lost in the State semifinals this season. The Marquette University graduate tallied a record of 25-9 this season and had the Crusaders ranked seventh in the Top 10 poll at the end of the season.

The 2024 Gary Sorenson Coach of the Year award was given to Mike Maass of Appleton North. This season, Maass led the Lightning to a fifth-place finish at State, third place in the Fox Valley Association regular season and a 23- 13 record on the year. Maass, a 1995 graduate of UW-Milwaukee, has a record of 547-176 in 24 years at the school. Appleton North finished the season receiving votes in the Badger Region / Frisco Mo Wisconsin Boys High School Top 10 list.
